Security Guard Program Instructor
Summit's Security Guard program combines key transferable skills with relevant, job-specific material ensuring our students are ready to meet a company's needs. Our Security Guard students learn skills required by employers for a number of different positions falling within the 6651 NOC code.
As a Security Guard Instructor, you will assist students in preparing for their Security Guard License Test through the Ministry of Community Safety & Correctional Services (MCSCS) and be employment ready.
Applicants must meet the following Instructor Qualifications:
- Private Career College (PCC) requirements:
48 Months of work experience in the vocation
OR
36 Months of teaching experience in the vocation and 24 months work experience
OR
24 Months work experience in the vocation
And
A Bachelor degree for a Canadian university or equivalent degree
or
Be a graduate of a College of Applied Arts & Technology or equivalent
or
Graduate of a registered PCC or equivalent
or
Holder of Certificate of Qualification under the Trades Qualification &
Apprenticeship Act or Apprenticeship & Certification Act or equivalent
- Experience with report writing, patrolling, control procedures and emergency responses is required.
- Proven customer service and interpersonal skills
- Training and/or instructing is an asset
- WHMIS, First Aid & CPR are considered an asset
