About Summit
Helping students reach new heights
Summit was founded in 2001 by John Spencer. Spencer is an Ontario board-certified school teacher with a background in psychology, 12 years training and leadership experience with the Department of National Defence, and a variety of labour industry experiences. This broad foundation culminated to inform and shape the Summit model and teaching systems.
Summit operates using a learning-centred model and humanistic principles - most notably: individuals are unique and therefore require individualized learning approaches.
Today Summit provides both after-school tutoring and adult training to communities in 12 cities across Southern Ontario. Summit infuses its holistic and ever-evolving learning systems with principles of Brain Plasticity, cognitive-behavioural science, and proven personal managing strategies, all of which help to foster truly optimal learning and life-long success available only at Summit.
The whole person approach is the essence of Summit Tutoring
Summit was founded upon the belief that all students have the ability to learn and succeed. Using the Summit Method, the whole individual is taken into account and students learn skills that will assist them well into their future. Students gain confidence and self-esteem while increasing critical thinking, creativity, problem solving and learning skills. Students at Summit discover that education is fun while developing their own passion for learning.
Summit Tutoring is built around a strong team of professional educators
To meet Summit's mission of maximizing the academic and personal potential of every student, we work as a team with students, parents, and educators. Summit programs incorporate up-to-date technology with hands-on teaching materials to keep pace with an ever-changing academic environment. Flexible session times and program durations are offered, and reports are sent home after every session. Summit believes education is priceless, so we do our best to offer superior service at affordable rates, including free academic assessments and consultations with caring teachers.
